i recently bought an olympus om-2n and have been using if for the past 3 weeks. however I have now tried to use the self timer for the first time and it doesn`t work. the timer dial rotates clockwise as it`s supposed to but it sticks at about 10 o`clock meaning the shutter isn`t released and so the mirror is locked up. can you help me with this?thanksewan

this is my sons camera that he lent to us for a recent trip. by wife caused all the damage. in addition to some minor water damage that has left a mark on the inside of the lens. the other water ingress was cleared immediately and the camera works perfectly. in addition to this the mechanical metal shutter that guards the outside of the lens has broken in a separate incident. ive had the lens for 4 years bought 2nd hand from london camera exchange. the lens now does not auto focus on my canon 550d but works with other cameras. also the action seems a little chewy have shot in dusty and humid environments cheers for your help.rob
