Seangood day to you. I wondered if you could be of assistance. I have a nikon af-s nikkor 24-70mm 1:2.8g ed lens which managed to disconnect from the body of the camera whilst shooting last week. I managed to stop the fall by using my foot which certainly broke the fall onto the hard tile floor. this was at the start of a shoot so I had to put it back on and check the damage. I managed to do the whole shoot with no visible damage and no apparent visual effects. the only damage that I can identify is the zoom ring is crunchy and pretty seized up. is this a common problem you can normally resolve and if so what sort of price would I be looking at? looking forward to hearing from you. chris
